A Flight Advisory has been issued as a notice of flight restrictions that will be in place for the State of the Union address on Wednesday, 1/27/2010. Due to President Obama's planned State of the Union address in Washington, DC, the FAA at the request of the Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense, as part of the airspace security measures will be modifying the Washington Special Flight Rules Area (SFRA) and Washington Metropolitan Flight Restriction Zone (FRZ) procedures with additional flight restrictions during the evening of the 27th. Model aircraft operations will be prohibited in the SFRA during the time of the event. Specific TFR notices will be published as we get closer to the event and are subject to change with very short notice. Please check back often for the most current NOTAM/TFR information.

Timely alerts are also available on the web or on you cell phone at: Twitter.com/amagov.

A Day at Gude - Courtesy of Charles French
A day at Gude

Saturday, weather looked a little cloudy but sun was peeking through now and then. Arrived at Gude, gate was open, good I was thinking some folks to fly with. Drove up the hill and found no one. But through out the coarse of the day in-between my crippled hand launching (great thermals) and flying my E zagi  I met some new friends.

First there was Bob, he came waltzing through the gazebo and never uttered a word to me. He just hissed at me and then ignored me some more. Bob did try and climb up the side of the gazebo which was an amazing feat but failed and left heading out towards the field in a huff.

Then there was Flavius, bla bla bla all day long cackling and mocking me, the same thing over and over. If I got to close he would jump up and down even more agitated, so I kept my distance while he cackled all day.

I ran into a few more friends at the edge of the site in the more forested areas. I must of startled them was like, oh dear I didn’t mean to startle so many of you. They all just lifted their heads as if to snub their nose at me, stared at me with indifference and lumbered away.

At  4:30 I packed up and left.
